I have to keep Benadryl on hand for myself and my two children due to our allergies and extremely sensitive skin.
Unfortunately, I didn't think about the dyes in this product until after I purchased it. I had to use it in an emergency, but my son is not a fan of the grape flavor. The positive (and reason for giving it 3 stars) is that it does work - not surprising, since the active ingredient is the same. However, a dye free version would work just as well, and could come in other flavors, such as cherry or bubble gum.
Fortunately, I found a generic product elsewhere that meets these requirements, so I will not buy this product again until they come out with a dye free version.
Honestly, dear makers of Benadryl: It's 2020 and this is an allergy product used by kids who have extreme sensitivities... How does it make any sense to include harmful dyes in the ingredients? Any ingredient that is not essential to the efficacy or palatability of the medicine should be eliminated to reduce the risk of a negative reaction. It's ridiculous for a kid to potentially have an allergic reaction to an allergy medication.
No, I would not recommend this product
